Karlu Karlu / Devils Marbles Conservation Reserve is located about 100 kilometres south of Tennant Creek in the Northern Territory. Some of these amazing giant stones sit either side of the Stuart Highway with a short detour off the main road to take a closer look.  Walk through these unusual rocks and see up close how some are precariously balanced on top of one another.

The road to viewing areas off the highway are clearly signposted and there is plenty of room to pull over when towing a caravan  - this road then returns to the Stuart Highway.

The local Aboriginal people call the Devils Marbles 'Karlu Karlu', which literally translates as ‘round boulders' and these range in size from 50 centimetres to six metres in diameter. The boulders are carved out of granite which has been eroded over millions of years to create these round features sitting on the landscape. There are many great photo opportunities at the Devils Marbles - especially sunrise and sunset.

About eight kilometres south of the viewing area is Wauchope Roadhouse which has accommodation meals, bar, swimming pool and fuel - a spot to spent the night if you want to see Karlu Karlu  at various times of the day.
