Baby Boomers Caravan Hire (BBCH) 100% Australian owned family business started in 2005, this year we celebrate 11 years of providing quality ‘caravans for hire’ so people can enjoy their holiday or just “try-em B4 you buy-em”!   In 2009 BBCH introduced Jayco bathroom pop-top caravans to the hire market which proved very successful, now most of the fleet are bathroom vans.   See pictures and floor plans on our website.

We like to help people discover Australia and enjoy their dreams, to see The Olgas, watch a sunset at Uluru or meander along The Great Ocean Road, there are thousands of interesting places and towns to visit. Or you might just want to go and sit beside the ocean or river and take it easy, you can do that too, one of the best parts for us is when they return after a trip in one of our vans, their beaming smiles tell all, its happiness and cheers all round and as a result we have also made some new friends.

BBCH hires pop-top caravans because they are 27% more economical to tow; Considering a pop-top caravan while travelling is not as high as a full height caravan.  Pop-tops maximise fuel efficiency due to less wind resistance and weight, this means smaller more fuel efficient cars can tow most of the Baby Boomers Caravan Hire fleet.

The single biggest advantage of the pop-top principle is the lower profile and decreased resistance, this is an important factor in comparing the two styles. In issue 121, we did a series of towing tests, one of which compared a full size and a pop-top of equal weight. Trying to eliminate as many variables as we could, it was determined the taller van drained 27% more fuel”.

BBCH started the “try before you buy” idea back in 2005 and many of our hire customers have now purchased their own caravan.  Buying a caravan is a major expense and buying the wrong van can be a very costly experience, so hire a modern van from BBCH before you go out to buy your own, its the best way to make sure which floor plan, size and type of caravan is suitable for you and importantly your car.  BBCH has several floor plans and different models, see our hire vans below for details.  Our modern Jayco pop-top fleet include mostly  shower and toilet models, which are suitable for towing behind medium sedans to 4WD’s.
