RvTrips' review

14 Aug 2015

We always like to call into the Visitor Information Centre to find out about the local area - what there is to see and do. Ravenshoe Visitor Centre is located on Moore Street in a lovely building surrounded by beautiful gardens and plenty of covered outdoor areas (just in case it rains). It is operated by volunteers and we found them to be friendly, chatty and happy to help with all our enquiries. Ravenshoe is 920 metres above sea level and the township is surrounded by World Heritage listed rainforests.

Within this building is the Nganyaji Interpretive Centre, which explains many aspects of the culture of the local indigenous people. The museum is open seven days a week and entry is free. There are also great displays depicting the history of the timber industry in this area. Make sure you allow some time to look around.

The staff suggested we back-track about four kilometres to look at the Millstream Falls and we are very pleased we took their advice.
