Emma Gorge is on the Gibb River Road and is part of El Questro. You will need to obtain a wilderness pass before spending time at El Questro and these can be purchased at the Emma Gorge Reception or the Kununurra Visitor Information Centre. The walk to the gorge is about 1.6 kilometress along a bush track and I took a walking pole which made it easier to climb up, over the large boulders along the trail. The pool at the Gorge is quite refreshing, so a swim is highly recommended.

I also recommend good walking shoes and lots of water. The path is marked by coloured tape so keep an eye out for these indicators to make sure you continue heading in the right direction.

A fantastic experience. It took me an hour to walk to the pool (very casual and stopped for lots of photos). The swim was indeed refreshing. I spent a half day here and it was magic. Perfect reward on return was a lunch at the Emma Gorge Restaurant! Can't turn down fresh Barra!!!
