We have recently visited parts of the Kimberley and cannot wait to go back and discover more. This is a beautiful and unique part of Australia and I would like to visit the area just after the wet season to see some of the magnificent waterfalls.

Based in Kununurra we visited El Questro, Home Valley Station, Purnululu National Park (Bungle Bungles), Wyndham, Emma Gorge and Lake Argyle. We then headed across to Broome, stopping at Halls Creek, Fitzroy Crossing (Geikie Gorge) and Derby. There are so many amazing areas to explore and the scenery can be quite breathtaking. The ranges appear to be different colours at various times of the day.

From Broome we saw the Horizontal Falls, Cape Leveque, Buccaneer Archipeligo, Willey Creek Pearl Farm, Malcolm Douglas Crocodile Farm and much more. You really need to come and see the Kimberley for yourself.

We travelled across the Kimberley region with our caravan during September and did not have any trouble finding accommodation. Apparently it can be very busy from June to August and you will need to book. I have heard that some caravan parks will not take bookings and it is a first in first served allocation of sites - apparently caravans will be lined up at the entrance to these parks from about 8 am.

The Kimberley region is a gem for Australia. Everybody should experience the majestic landscapes, beautiful people and rich culture that is abundant in this special spot in our Country! No where in the World could compete with the serenity of this Oasis. My whole family loved it.
